Trevor Haines, UK Manager for iFLY UK, said:

"We're delighted to be working alongside Wilten and The O2 on our 4th iFLY UK location, right in the heart of one of the world's most popular leisure and entertainment destinations.
As the visionaries in our industry, it's vital we continue to research and develop new technologies and locations to deliver the dream of flight to more and more people, regardless of external challenges.
iFLY is for everyone, any background, any ability and for ages 3 - 103, so we're overjoyed and extremely proud to have the support of the local authority, as well as a host of other partners, as we bring the fully inclusive sport of Indoor Skydiving to London."

We were delighted to have the Deputy Mayor of Greenwich, Councillor Leo Fletcher, with us as our special guest for the ceremony.

Councillor Fletcher said:

“I was very pleased to attend the ground breaking ceremony. I really enjoyed meeting the project main contractor and stakeholders. I am looking forward to seeing the facility up and running, it will be a great addition to The O2 - offering a new attraction that local residents and the wider community will enjoy.”

Simon Ward, Chief Executive Officer of iFLY International, took the opportunity to present the Councillor with a gift voucher for an iFLY experience, so hopefully he himself will take the opportunity to try out the facility in person after the project completes!

The build is supported by client/project partners Goodrich Consulting LLP, Built Environment Partnership and Kelly Taylor & Associates.

“It was an absolute pleasure to host Councillor Fletcher and the iFLY team on site for the formal ground-breaking ceremony. Having delivered for iFLY as a Project Manager it is fantastic to be working with the team again. This project is a particularly special one, and one the team are all looking forward to delivering!”

Construction works commenced on site in March 2022 and are due to be completed at the end of this year.
