We are delighted to have received a certificate of acknowledgement from the Leicester Education Business Company for supporting their school events programme in Leicestershire!
Both our Space City (Pioneer Park) and Ian Marlow Project Teams volunteered their time to work with students to broaden their understanding of construction and the variety of careers available in our field of work.
During site visits, students learnt about works progressing on site including cladding, blockwork, and mechanical and electrical works, as well as the variety of roles within main contracting such as project and site management, quantity surveying, design management, and marketing.
We are proud to be strengthening our connection with the local community and delivering social value for Leicester through engagement with schools and colleges, skills development, and local employment.
We have received some fantastic feedback from the young people and some of the highlighting comments were;
"It was a chance to meet new people and learn about their experiences and what their jobs involves and how they got their qualifications, it was really inspiring" Student Comment
"I really enjoyed the event and learnt a lot and I am looking forward to more events like this." -Student
"The event was very good. I learnt something new today. The volunteers were very welcoming and nice." - Student Comment
Students were asked to rate the visits out of 10 and we scored an average of 9 out of 10. We are thrilled to have helped contribute to the local students in inspiring them with a positive perspective of the world of work!
