TruckEast Ltd, Stowmarket: Construction works begin at new purpose-built, state-of-the-art depot

Wilten Construction were delighted to host the ground-breaking ceremony for our valued client TruckEast, a Scania Dealership, last week in Stowmarket to mark the start of this exciting turnkey construction project.

The project represents a £6m+ investment from TruckEast into the new purpose-built, state-of-the-art depot, which will also serve as the company’s future head office.

The 3.7 acre site is located near Junction 47a on the A14 and five miles from the company’s current site, where it has been based for 50 years.

Scania Group After Sales Director, Martyn Clipston (pictured above), said:

“Stowmarket is one of the oldest serving Scania branches in the UK and for TruckEast it was the original branch – it seems fitting that now it will be our first purpose-built site.

“This investment reflects our future commitment to our customers and the Scania brand, where the new dealership will enable us to take our service to the next level”.

Wilten Construction are appointed as Main Contractor for the design and build of this project over a 32 week programme.

Works are off to a fantastic start with bulk earthworks being delivered by #SupplyChain partner Tru7 Earthworks who have set out to impress with a first class service and approach to delivery.

Facilities include a parts department, offices, staff welfare, meeting rooms and extensive secure parking.
